Shane Citron

Dr. Shane Citron is a highly accomplished dentist and oral maxillofacial surgeon based in Thornhill, Ontario. He completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto and graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry with honors, earning him a place in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honour Society.

Following his dental degree, Dr. Citron pursued a six-year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical training program at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he also obtained his Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the United States and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

During his residency training, Dr. Citron gained extensive knowledge and surgical expertise in various areas of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, oral pathology, facial reconstructive surgery, and surgical management of medically compromised patients. He also received specialized training in general anesthesia for both adult and pediatric patients.

Before joining Newmarket Dental Specialists, Dr. Citron held the position of Section Chief of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Hospital Dentistry at Elliot Health System in New Hampshire. He has also served as a Chair of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he mentored dental students and surgical residents. Dr. Citron has been involved in teaching and mentoring at various esteemed institutions, including the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Citron is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Canadian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and the Chalmers J. Lyons Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
