Barrie Renick

Dr. Renick is a highly accomplished dentist in Thornhill, with a unique combination of specialties in both Oral Surgery and Oral Pathology. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Toronto in 1983. Dr. Renick furthered his training and received a Diploma in Oral Pathology in 1987, followed by a Diploma in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1991, making him the only dentist in Canada with dual specialty training in both fields.

Throughout his training, Dr. Renick gained valuable experience at renowned institutions such as Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Mt. Sinai's facial pain clinic, Sunnybrook's multidisciplinary Mouth Clinic, The Odette (Bayview) Cancer Centre, and Princess Margaret Hospital.

With over 30 years of oral surgery practice in Newmarket, Dr. Renick offers comprehensive oral surgical and dental implant services. He specializes in diagnosing and treating complex oral pathology and oral medicine cases. Additionally, Dr. Renick has extensive experience in providing general anesthesia services, having administered anesthesia to over 15,000 patients. He served as a staff surgeon at Southlake Hospital for more than 25 years.

Dr. Renick's expertise extends beyond his dental practice. He is the Chief Clinical Advisor for Proteocyte Diagnostics at the MaRS Centre in Toronto. This company has developed the Straticyte test, which is a highly advanced oral cancer diagnostic test recognized worldwide.
