Dr. Amelia Chan is a highly accomplished dentist based in downtown Toronto. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1987 and has been serving the Toronto community since 1989. Dr. Chan has a diverse range of interests within dentistry, including cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, implants, and periodontal surgery.
As the founder of Downtown Dentistry, located conveniently near the St. Patrick Subway station, Dr. Amelia Chan and her team offer a wide range of services. These include cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign with accelerated devices, porcelain braces, dental implants, gum surgery, and sleep apnea and snoring appliances. Alongside Dr. Chan, the practice includes Dr. Ha Young Kim, Dr. Michelle Fung, Dr. Emily Baker, Dr. Chaitanya Reddy Nandikonda, and Orthodontist Dr. Julien Sungyoon Kim.
Throughout her career, Dr. Amelia Chan has been actively involved in various dental organizations. She is a member of the Canadian Dental Association and the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), where she served as a General Council Member from 2008 to 2013. Dr. Chan has been recognized for her leadership in the field, receiving the ODA Governance Leadership Awards in 2011 and 2013, as well as the ODA Award of Merit. She has also held positions such as Past President and Marketing Director of the Toronto Central Dental Society (TCDS). In addition, Dr. Chan is a member of the Canadian Sleep Society and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She is involved in special programs at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Dentistry, Continuing Education Department, and The Pankey Institute.
