Dental Care – Important Tips for Dental Care

To have healthy teeth, you must take care of them permanently. In fact, people who have healthy and beautiful teeth should not neglect to take care of their teeth. Here are some of the most important things that should be done regularly to have healthy teeth.

Brush at least twice a day

Brushing is one of the most important factors affecting dental health. Brushing at night prevents plaque and germs from accumulating on the teeth and gums during the day. Proper brushing is very important to get rid of germs and plaque and to prevent gingivitis and tooth decay. Brushing should usually take at least 2 minutes and use soft toothbrushes as much as possible.

Use fluoride toothpaste

Toothpaste containing fluoride is much more effective than toothpaste containing bleach. Because fluoride protects the enamel well and prevents tooth decay. So be sure to use fluoride toothpaste to fight germs and bacteria in your mouth.

Use mouthwash

Using mouthwash is very important for dental health. If you use mouthwash after flossing and brushing, you will significantly increase the chances of your teeth staying healthy. To do this, use fluoride mouthwashes and move it in your mouth for about 2 minutes. Why is it important to use mouthwash?

  • Cleaning parts of the teeth, gums and mouth that are difficult to clean with floss and toothbrush.
  • Mouthwash contains substances that are very effective in oral health and protect teeth against germs and decay.
  • Mouthwash also reduces the amount of acid in the mouth.

Note: For children, the elderly or people who have sensitive teeth, there are special mouthwashes that should be used in consultation with the dentist. Also, be careful not to swallow this liquid when using mouthwash.

Do not smoke

Smoking is harmful not only to the teeth but to the whole body. Cigarettes cause yellowing and tooth decay. It also helps with gum disease.

Drinking water

In general, drinking water is good for the overall health of the body. But especially to have healthy teeth, try to drink plenty of water during the day. Drinking water removes some of the sweet or sticky material that settles on the teeth.

Minimize the consumption of sweet foods

Sweet foods cause acid production in the mouth, which over time can lead to enamel erosion and tooth decay.

Increase consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables

Consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables is very useful for oral health. Because fresh and crisp vegetables and fruits are high in fiber and are very important in improving tooth function.

Flossing

Flossing cleans the middle parts of the tooth that cannot be brushed. Therefore, if flossing is not used, bacteria may remain in these areas and cause tooth decay and loss over time. Flossing properly is also very important, and when approaching the gums, be careful to do it more slowly so as not to cause bleeding gums. Flossing is not only effective in removing food left between the teeth, but also in removing plaque and germs.

See your dentist regularly

Oral hygiene is very important and serious. Therefore, it is better to visit the dental clinic at least once every 6 months for examination and also if necessary for washing and treatment. If you see a dentist regularly, you will soon notice any problems with your teeth and seek treatment. In this case, you can avoid bigger problems.
